10-Foot Alligator Shuts Down Florida Highway 1

A massive gator trekking up Highway 1 north of the Florida Keys brought vacationers and residents to a stand-still. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission contacted Pesky Critters Wildlife Control to remove this dinosaur descendant from the asphalt. Sheriff’s deputies secured the area so the trappers could remove the alligator, but that proved to be a difficult task. The alligator measured 10-feet long and, even for these experienced trappers, took more than an hour to subdue.
