Olivia Dean almost didn’t release her biggest song…which is kind of wild!
According to People, in a new interview she said “Man I Need” “wasn’t supposed to be a single” at first. Her hesitation? She wasn’t sure it fit the overall vibe of her album “The Art of Loving.”
They note that she said she “wasn’t sure about it” and thought it felt a little different. What changed everything? Her band!
People reports that they heard it in rehearsals and were like, this is the one! That moment convinced her to go for it, and clearly, that paid off.
They write that the song went on to become a massive hit, and one of my personal favorites! She also said she loved the track, just didn’t know if it represented the full story of the album. Looking back, she’s glad she trusted it, even if she wasn’t 100% sure at the start.
