Billie Eilish is opening up about what it’s really like living with Tourette syndrome.

According to People, during a new interview with Amy Poehler, Billie revealed she spends interviews “doing everything in my power” to suppress her tics while on camera.

They note that she explained that as soon as interviews end, she has to “let them all out” after holding them in for so long.

People also reports that Billie shared that she experiences both vocal and physical tics daily, even if people don’t always notice them. She described Tourette syndrome as feeling like “intrusive thoughts” that your body is forced to physically or verbally express.

They also report that Billie also said one of the most frustrating parts is when people misunderstand what Tourette’s actually looks like.

People also reports that the singer explained that some of her tics happen constantly in her knees, elbows and hands, even when they aren’t visible to other people.

Billie was diagnosed with Tourette syndrome at age 11 and has spoken publicly about it several times over the years.
