After Sabrina Carpenter’s performance at the 2026 Grammy Awards, animal rights group PETA publicly criticized part of her act... specifically the choice to include a live white dove onstage.
According to Yahoo, Sabrina ended her performance of “Manchild” by holding the bird, but PETA reacted strongly on social media, calling that move “stupid and cruel” and accusing her of “childlike behavior.”
They note that the organization argued that being handled and exposed to bright lights and loud music could cause the bird fear and distress, saying animals like that “belong flying free.”
Yahoo notes that PETA also used the moment to comment on other Grammy moments involving animal imagery, urging performers to leave animals out of big shows like this..
