Our friends from Connecticut Draft Horse Rescue posted the following on Facebook.
If you feel it in your heart to donate to help with Pete's medical care, we would be so very grateful.
Yesterday, Pete had severe colic symptoms. We have done everything we possibly could do for him here at the farm under Dr. Golub's care. We've had volunteers by his side for the past 24 hours caring for him and monitoring his health. However today Dr. Golub made the decision he needs ICU care.
Per procedures at most Equine hospitals, Pete needs an isolation stall due to his diarrhea and fever and unfortunately, Tufts’s is full and cannot take him. The closest hospital with an isolation stall open and with an Internal Specialist, is at Rhinebeck Equine Hospital in NY. Dr Golub and Stacey Randall are on their way to the hospital with him now.
Continued prayers, support, love, and healthy vibes are needed for our big boy Pete. We are giving his brother Sam extra attention while Pete is away. 💜🙏🏻 Hang in there, sweetest boy, you are so loved.
