Bruce Willis made his first public appearance since being diagnosed with dementia to show his support for the first responders battling the deadly wildfires ravaging Los Angeles.

On Thursday (January 16), Emma Heming Willis shared a heartwarming black and white video set to Led Zeppelin's "Going to California" on her Instagram of her husband shaking hands with and speaking to Los Angeles police officers and first responders, a rare sighting of the Die Hard star amid his health battles, per Entertainment Tonight.

"Spotting a first responder, Bruce never missed a chance to show his gratitude with a heartfelt handshake and a 'thank you for your service,'" she wrote. "Yesterday was no different."

Willis has been out of the public eye since being diagnosed with the language disorder aphasia in 2022, and the progressive condition frontotemporal dementia the following year, living at home with Heming and their two daughters, Mabel, 12, and Evelyn, 10, per People. In addition to his youngest daughters, the 69-year-old Fifth Element actor is also a dad to daughters Rumer, 36, Scout, 33, and Tallulah, 30, whom he shares with ex-wife Demi Moore.

Heming recently shared sweet moments between Willis and his youngest daughters, giving followers a rare look into their family life. Last year, the 46-year-old model explained how she isn't "trying to shield" their daughters from his diagnosis, revealing that Bruce was "declining" for years before his diagnosis.
