Demi Lovato will reunite with her ex-boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama in a romantic way.
The “I Love Me” singer and the That ‘70s Show alum will come together as star-crossed lovers in Netflix’s new animated film Charming, in which the 28-year-old musician voices the character Lenore opposite Valderrama’s Prince Philippe Charming.
Inspired by classic fairytales like Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, and Cinderella, the Ross Venokur-directed movie is a musical comedy that tells the tale of Prince Charming, who, with the help of his unlikely ally Lenore, must go on an unexpected journey to find his one true love or else love in the land will disappear for good.
As Lovatics know, the “Sorry Not Sorry” songbird and the NCIS actor announced the news of their breakup back in 2016. “This was an incredibly difficult decision for both of us, but we have realized more than anything that we are better as best friends," the stars wrote in a joint statement on Instagram at the time. "We will always be supportive of one another."
In the years that followed their breakup, Valderrama remained close to Lovato and was a big source of support for Lovato following her near-fatal drug overdose in July 2018.
"He knew she was going through a tough time but he wasn't prepared for this," a source revealed at the time. "He saw her through so many ups and downs and was her rock through some of her darkest moments. To see her back in such a sad and vulnerable place is heartbreaking for him."
