Election Day - Tuesday, November 3, 2020 - is nearing! Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many people have elected to vote by absentee ballot, or even participate in early voting. Here's what you need to know about voting in-person this Election Day in Connecticut:

- Locations are open from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m. If you are standing in line at 8 p.m., you will be allowed to vote.

- How are polling places practicing social distancing?
- Wear a mask when you go vote in-person and social distance measures will be taken at all polling places.
- What do I need to bring to vote in-person?
- Something with your name or address displayed on it. You do not need a photo identification.
- How does voting work?
- You will be handed a piece of paper, directed to a private desk area and will fill in bubble choices on the ballot using a felt-tip pen. Voters can leave columns blank, if desired. Once the form has been completed, the voter places the sheet into a scanner which reads the selections and stores the results within the machine itself. The machine is not tied to the internet, which prevents hackers from accessing election data.

- By 8 p.m. on Election Day. Only completed ballots received before that deadline will be counted.

- Can someone who is in quarantine or has COVID-19 vote in person?
- The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) will allow voters to exercise their right to vote, "regardless if they are sick or in quarantine".
