Lizzo Offers Meditative Help

On Saturday, the same day her canceled performance at the Houston Rodeo would have taken place, Lizzo offered an audio-visual balm to fans affected by the coronavirus outbreak. It came in the form of a half-hour video on her Instagram that she described as "a meditation and mantra to promote healing during this global crisis." She suggested fans use it at their own pace, and sent her love out to them. The clip begins in with Lizzo playing a soothing flute piece. She then explains that we have the power to eliminate a lot of the fear and helplessness that people are currently feeling, and also that there's a lot she wants to do to help children who are out of school. She then offers what she calls a "mass meditation" on transmutation out fear into love. Following a second flute piece, Lizzo offers a prayer on the healing power of music and says how important it is to keep music in our lives, despite the postponements and cancellations of live music event. She ends on a positive note, saying "We're in this together. We'll get through this together, 'cause we always do." She asks that people use their power to help others and "not to let fear become the next pandemic."
