Harvey Weinstein Jailed After Guilty Verdict

Two of Harvey Weinstein’s accusers have expressed relief at his guilty verdict. The former movie mogul was convicted of raping an aspiring actress in 2013 and sexually assaulting another woman in 2006, but found not guilty of predatory sexual assault. Actress Rosanna Arquette said she burst into tears hearing the guilty verdicts, adding “it’s a watershed moment... a seismic shift in our culture”. Arquette, who has accused Weinstein of forcing her to touch him inappropriately, added that she hopes Weinstein spends the rest of his life in prison. Another accuser, Louisette Geiss, said she feels much safer now he is in jail. Geiss said she had an encounter with Weinstein in a hotel room in 2008 but that she managed to escape. Harvey Weinstein has denied all allegations of nonconsensual sex and his lawyers say they will be appealing the guilty verdicts
