Overall, Connecticut ranks as one of the safest states in the nation. Despite being densely populated as a whole, the small New England state’s lack of a major urban center (its most populous city, Bridgeport, has just 144,229 inhabitants) and claim to the highest per capita income in the U.S. goes a long way in explaining Connecticut’s impressively low crime numbers.
Congrats to Weston who came out on top with a population of 10,425, zero reports of violent crimes and 15 reported property crimes. Rounding out the top three were Ridgefield and Newtown.
