"Top Gun: Maverick" has been named the biggest box office hit of 2022 by the National Board of Review.
According to ABC News, the film not only brought in $1.5 billion worldwide, it also is a big "contender" for the Academy Awards.
ABC News also reports that because of the immense success of the film, Tom Cruise (who both acted in, and produced the film) will be up for the Producers Guild Awards.
