200-Year-Old Dug-Up Time Capsule Turns Out to Be Empty

Nothing was in the treasure chest, believed to be a time capsule from 200 years ago. It was dug up on the West Point, New York, campus during renovation work and found next to an 1829 Revolutionary War hero statue. X-rays weren’t able to see inside the lead box so historians were called in to examine it. “We built up to this quite a bit. I'll tell you the truth, that was the last outcome I expected,” said West Point archeologist, Paul Hudson.
