Ariana Grande got real in a master-class at Chapman University!
According to People, she said she owes a lot of her signature pop-R&B sound to Mac Miller’s creative influence when they first worked together.
They note she chatted about their breakout collab, The Way, and how she felt like she was finally "finding her sound." She also credited Mac with giving her the confidence to take musical risks.
People also went on to say that Ariana notes that beyond just sounding good together, she remembered Mac's dedication to music.
They report Ariana said even years later and after everything they both went through, she still calls that early chapter with him "pivotal" and seems genuinely grateful for how it shaped her.
