Adam Levine is headed to court!
According to Billboard, the Maroon 5 singer is being sued for copyright infringement after posting unlicensed video on his Instagram account.
They note that the 2019 post contains copyrighted hurricane damage video owned by Global Weather Productions LLC. Levine took to Instagram to ask fans to donate to the storm relief effort after Hurricane Dorian caused severe damage in the Bahamas.
Billboard reports that via the lawsuit the plaintiff claims, "As a musician and author, defendant has significant experience in copyright matters and is familiar with specific practices including the need to ensure that content used in his posts has been properly licensed... As a content creator himself, defendant should be particularly sensitive to the unauthorized use of his works."
