Miley Cyrus' legal team is hitting back at a lawsuit that claims she copied Bruno Mars' hit "When I Was Your Man."
According to People, the suit was filed back in September by Tempo Music Investments which is only a partial owner of the rights to the song.
Because of that, Miley’s lawyers are moving to have the case dismiss claiming that "only owners of exclusive rights may sue for copyright infringement." They also said "an assignee of only one co-author lacks exclusive rights and, therefore, also lacks standing to sue for infringement."
There has yet to be a responded from Temp Music’s lawyers so I’ll be keeping an eye to see this plays out.
