When Selena Gomez takes on a role, she TAKES ON A ROLE!
According to People, in preparation for her new film Emilia Perez, Selena took 6 months of Spanish lessons to make sure she was fluent - fluent!
They note that in a new interview she said she grew up speaking spanish with her family back in Texas, but she lost fluency when she moved to LA to pursue her career!
She said, "I got my first job at 7, and most of my jobs from that point on were English… That's kind of the case for a lot of people, especially Mexican American people." In the film she plays a cartel leader's wife!
