Ed Sheeran is not happy with Band Aid! The group not the bandage brand….
According to People, they’re doing a remake of mix of their song "Do They Know It’s Christmas?" for charity, which features the voices of remixes done in the past!
They note this includes Harry Styles and the rest of One Direction, plus other icons like George Michael and Bono… but it seems like they also took Ed’s voice from the 2014 remix… but without permission!
People reports that in a statement issued on Ed’s Insta story he said, "My approval wasn’t sought on this new Band Aid 40 release, Had I had the choice I would have respectfully declined the use of my vocals. A decade on and my understanding of the narrative associated with this has changed… This is just my personal stance, I’m hoping it’s a forward-looking one. Love to all x."
They note Band Aid responded saying, "Ed did not ask to be removed from the record." This is gonna get interesting.
