Looks like we could’ve had another Prince Harry!
According to InStyle, Harry Styles was originally slated to play the role of Prince Eric in the live action remake of "The Little Mermiad." BUT- he turned it down!
The director of the film, Rob Marshall, said they met with Harry and loved him but felt like he ultimately wanted to focus on darker roles like the one he played in “Don’t worry darling,” alongside ex Olivia Wilde. InStyle reports Marshall told Us Weekly, "We met with him. He was lovely. What a wonderful guy... But at the end of the day, he really felt like he wanted to go off and do the movies that he ended up doing, which were sort of darker."
Marshall also noted that as a singer, Harry was looking to get away from the musical aspect of the film in order to focus on his work as an actor, and keep his music separate.
