Squid Game creator Hwong Dong-hyuk is speaking out about his concerns for the reality show spinoff of the hit show, Squid Game: The Challenge.
According to E! News, backstage at the Emmy Awards the Dong-hyuk expressed his concern with the translation of the themes of poverty and class in the reality adaptation.
He told E! News, "What I hope is that they will be carrying on my vision and intention as much as possible for the show... I feel like when you take things too seriously, that's really not the best way to go for the entertainment industry. It doesn't really set a great precedent."
In the spin-off, 456 contestant will play a variety of games with the hope of winning the massive $4.56 million prize!
