Teen Lifeguard Delivers Baby

A teen lifeguard in Colorado is being called a hero after helping to deliver a baby, poolside.

Natalie Lucas has been lifeguarding for the YMCA in Longmont, Colorado for three years, and this is the first time she's ever had to deliver a baby!

She told Good Morning America, "A lot of people are telling me like, 'Oh, I wouldn't have been able to do that, like I would have passed out or freaked out.' I'm like, no, I just did what I was supposed to do."

Tessa Rider and her husband Matthew Jones were at the pool trying to relieve pregnancy nerve pain when Rider began to go into labor! According to her husband, the baby had been pushed up against a nerve near his wife's hip and that being in the water helped her discomfort.

Rider was in the pool when she started to feel labor begin. Lucas called 911 but while she was on the phone they realized the baby was crowning and she leapt into action!

The newborn, Tobin Thomas Rider was born healthy and happy! Baby Rider now has a lifetime membership to the YMCA.
