A new study has revealed that some feminine hygiene products could contain toxic chemicals and metals!

According to WRAL, a new study from the University of California, Berkeley found that there were lead and arsenic in tampons sold here in the US and Europe.

They do note that the names of the brands tested in the study were not disclosed. However, they do note that organic brands did have lower levels of the chemicals and metals.

WRAL also notes that Alexandra Scranton, Director of Science and Research Women’s Voices for the Earth said, "We were excited to see that there's more research coming out now, for the first time, on heavy metals in tampons... Unfortunately, it raises more questions than it provides answers. But it does tell us that we need better regulation, that there are very serious toxic chemicals present in these products that we use in such an intimate part of our bodies."
