Shakira is being forced to settle her tax evasion case!
According to Page Six, she just reached a VERY last-minute deal with Spanish prosecutors to avoid potential jail time on the opening day of her trial, which was due to start yesterday.
According to the deal, Page Six notes Shakira had to acknowledge six counts of tax evasion where she failed to pay the Spanish government 14.5 million euros (about $15.8 million) in taxes.
They also report that as a result, she’ll get a three-year suspended sentence and a 7 million euros ($7.6 million) fine.
In case you forgot, this also isn’t the first time Shakira’s been snagged for tax evasion to boot. Page Six reports Shakira was also snagged for failing to pay 6.7 million euros in tax on her 2018 income
