What's America's favorite dog breed? If you said Labrador retriever, you're a good boy or girl. For the 28th year in a row, Labs took the top spot in the American Kennel Club rankings.
The Lab continues to shatter the longest running record, which was achieved in 2013. The Associated Press attributes the streak to Labs' "amiable nature and aptitude in many canine roles," including service to humans.
Rounding out the top five in the US are German shepherds, golden retrievers, French bulldogs and bulldogs.
Perhaps Labs could one day be unseated. Frenchies are the number 1 breed in cities such as New York, Los Angeles, Oakland, Las Vegas and Honolulu.
