Here's What is Happening on the 'American Top 40' Chart This Week

This past weekend on American Top 40 we had to say goodbye "8 Letters" by Why Don't We, which spent 12 weeks on the Top 40 chart, peaking at #26 last week.

NF's run with "Lie" has also come to an end. The track spent 35-weeks on the chart, it first debuted at #39 in July of last year and climbed up to #6 back in December.

New to the chart is "Last Hurrah" by Bebe Rexha. This is her thirteenth AT40 hit. Her first was "Take Me Home" with Cash Cash in 2014 and her biggest was "Me, Myself & I" with G-Eazy, which reached #1 in 2016.

Newcomer LIVVIA also makes her debut on the Top 40 chart with "Damn."

While the Jonas Brothers have scored the fastest rising hit of the year (so far), up 16 spots, with "Sucker." This is the biggest leap since Ariana Grande’s "thank u, next" rose 19 places this past December.

Last weekend "Eastside" by benny blanco, Halsey & Khalid was spending its third week at #1, but this week it is down 2 spots to #3. Although it was benny's first #1 as an artist, he has hit #1 over a dozen times as a writer or producer on hits like "Hot N Cold," "Don’t Trust Me," "Dynamite," "TiK ToK," "Moves Like Jagger" and "Same Old Love."

Halsey, also holds the #2 spot with her song "Without Me," this is the thirteenth straight week it has been in the Top 5. The track first made it into the Top 5 on January 5th when it was gold, now it is double platinum. With it's staying power it has a pretty good shot at becoming the #1 song of 2019.

And a new song has moved into the top spot this week, drumroll please…

"7 rings" by Ariana Grande is your new #1. This is her seventh AT40 hit following "thank u, next," "God is a woman," "no tears left to cry," "Side to Side," "Bang Bang" and "Problem."

Congrats, Ari!
