The Weeknd's New Album Announcement Is A Trippy Ride: See The Clip

The Weeknd's steady rollout for his new album continues with a trippy new clip announcing the set's title.

On Thursday (February 13), the crooner, who is set to turn 30 next week, took to social media to share the teaser for After Hours, which had previously been referred to as Chapter VI. In the 48-second clip, viewers hear the faint sounds of the singer's falsetto disperse in the background as we see what looks like a continuation of the plot from both his music videos for "Heartless" and "Blinding Lights." Decked out in his red suit, The Weeknd is seen driving a convertible down the highway as the camera flips upside down to reveal a montage of city scenery and the title to the upcoming collection.

No release date arrived with Thursday's announcement, but for what it's worth, the chart-topper is scheduled to hit Saturday Night Live on March 7, with Daniel Craig as host for the evening. After Hours will mark his first full-length LP since 2016's Starboy, despite the 2018 release of his EP, My Dear Melancholy.

Little is known about the upcoming set, but Chad Hugo recently revealed that he and Neptunes counterpart Pharrell Williams have been in the studio with Abel. "We were just in the studio with The Weeknd, and that sounds really futuristic," he admitted. Scroll on below to see the teaser for After Hours!
