Don't worry - that title got me excited too. Let's be clear here - there are some cereals that are certainly healthier than pizza. But now knowing that a slice of pizza can be healthier than SOME cereals...time to call the local pizza place and drop a mean breakfast order! Don't fully believe me yet? Chelsey Amer - a nutritionist based in New York says so...and that's good enough for me!
Chelsey Amer, MS, RDN, CDN, a nutritionist based in New York, told The Daily Meal that "a slice of pizza contains more fat and much less sugar than most cold cereals, so you will not experience a quick sugar crash." One cup of Raisin Bran, for example, has 18 grams of sugar (close to the 25 gram daily limit recommended for women) and zero healthy fats.
So what kind of pizza are you having for breakfast? Pepperoni? Cheese? Bacon? or the perfectly delicious Breakfast Pizza?
