Cardi B Dodges Arrest Warrant After Getting Warning From Judge

Cardi B now knows that no appearance, interview, or performance is as important as her freedom.Ā

After skipping out on her scheduled court hearing in connection to her assault case earlier this week (her lawyer blamed the absence on her busy schedule), the "Money" rapper showed up to court bright and early on Friday (December 7), TMZ reports.

As previously reported, the judge issued her lawyer a stern warning on Monday (December 3), threatening to throw Cardi in jail if she missed the next court date. "I want you to convey to her that itā€™s not acceptable that sheā€™s not here today," Queens Criminal Court Judge Sean Dunn told Cardi's lawyer, Jeff Kern, before issuing a new date of December 7, according to Page Six. "You should inform her that if she doesnā€™t show up, that unless circumstances change, itā€™s very likely that the court will issue a bench warrant for her arrest."Ā

Clearly, Cardi heard his message loud and clear.

Despite prosecutors asking that she be held on $2,500 bail on Friday, the judge released her with no bail, saying he didn't believe she was a flight risk. However, according to TMZ, the judge did give Cardi a stern warning to have no contact whatsoever with Baddie Gi and Jade, the two women suing her.

Cardi was charged with two misdemeanors ā€” reckless endangerment, and assault ā€” in October, after turning herselfĀ in to police in connection to a fight at a Queens strip club in August. The "Bodak Yellow" rapper, whose real name is Belcalis Marlenis AlmĆ”nzar, was charged for allegedly ordering an attack on the two bartenders ā€”sisters JadeĀ and Baddie GĀ ā€” at Angels Strip Club. The fight reportedly went down because Cardi believed one of the bartenders slept with her soon-to-be ex-husband,Offset.Ā

She's scheduled to appear again in court next month.
