The creator of SpongeBob SquarePants, Stephen Hillenburg has passed away after battling ALS. Stephen told everyone about his ALS diagnosis back in 2017. Stephen created the beloved cartoon in the late 90's.
Nickelodeon released a statement with the passing of Stephen.
