Did you ever think that a store would stop selling CDs but continue selling vinyl records? That’s exactly what Best Buy is doing.
The retailer stopped selling CDs at its stores on Sunday. As digital streaming services continue to dominate, CD sales have fallen in recent years.
However, in a twist, Best Buy will continue selling vinyl records for the next two years as vinyl enjoys a comeback. Last year, vinyl record sales hit a 27-year-high.
As of this week #BestBuy will no longer sell physical CDs in its stores. Along with this news, #Target has also asked record companies to purchase back any unsold inventory. So, hold on to that giant binder of CD’s you’ve kept in your car since ‘05, because it’s only a matter of time ‘til you can resell them at your local vintage shop. More on ➡️CoS.
