Four Tornadoes Touch Down In Connecticut

posted by Courtney and KISS in the Morning -

48 hours into clean-up, Hamden remains devastated and in the dark.  Dozens of roads are still closed, blocked by massive, hundred year old trees entangled in wires.

Eversource expects to restore power by Sunday to the thousands of homes that went dark after Tuesday’s storms, which included four separate tornadoes, according to the National Weather Service.

Beacon Falls, Hamden, Oxford, Southbury, Winsted and Barkhamsted were all hit by the four tornadoes. The Brookfield area was hit with a macroburst packing 110 mph winds, according to the NWS.

Two days ago, a tornado touched down not to far from my house. We were lucky with no damage or lose of power. A few miles north it was a different story. Here are some images from the aftermath of this tornado that ripped up Sleeping Giant State Park.
