Beyonce Partners With Google To Donate More Money To Four Additional HBCUs

Beyoncé is continuing to show us examples of how to #BeyGood. The star has now partnered with Google to donate more scholarship money to four additional colleges and universities.

According to a press release on Bey's website, Google has matched the $100,000 donation that the artist previously gave to Xavier University of Louisiana, Wilberforce University, Tuskegee University and Bethune-Cookman University to benefit other HBCUs such as Texas Southern University, Fisk University, Morehouse College and Grambling State University.

After Bey's first Coachella performance -- which was HBCU-inspired -- she revealed that she was awarding Xavier University of Louisiana, Wilberforce University, Tuskegee University and Bethune-Cookman University each with $25,000. One student from each of these schools will get the money to pay for their tuition and other college expenses. So, with Google also stepping into the mix, the now eight schools with be awarded with $200,000 total for the 2018-2019 year.

“We salute the rich legacy of Historically Black Colleges and Universities,” Ivy McGregor, director of philanthropy and corporate relations at Parkwood Entertainment, said, “We honor all institutions of higher learning for maintaining culture and creating environments for optimal learning which expands dreams and the seas of possibilities for students.”
