Somers Man Chops off End of Finger During Attempted Break-In

A man who tried to break into a local Dunkin' Donuts shop was arrested after he returned to the scene to find a piece of a finger cut off while attempting to pry open a drive-up window with a knife, state police said.

David Allen White, 30, of Somers, was charged on Saturday with criminal attempt at third-degree burglary and criminal attempt at sixth-degree larceny, according to an arrest report. He is due in court on Oct. 10, state police said.
