Here’s the latest in the world of Britney! She’s just settled a lawsuit with her former bodyguard, a guy named Fernando Flores. Flores, a bodyguard who worked for Spears during her so-called “dark” period, said that the pop star is a wild, sex crazed maniac who flashed him… and more. Obviously, sources close to Spears say that the lawsuit is factless and that Flores is just trying to extort money.
Either way, Team Britney decided to end the lawsuit after going before a private mediator – versus facing a long court battle. The case is now officially closed.
So did Britney pay Flores any money? Looks like we’ll never know – no one is talking and no one will, since the terms of the settlement are completely confidential. Let’s just say this… if you happen to see Flores around town, crusing in a new Maserati or something, well…..
Also – will Spears be a judge on “X Factor?” Rumors have it that Simon Cowell has approached Spears to be a judge on the next season of the hit series. Granted, she’s not the only female name being tossed around to join the show (Avril Lavigne and Janet Jackson are two of the other strong rumors) but Cowell would not confirm who producers were talking to.
Cowell has played coy when asked about Spears, only saying, “Well, I’m fascinated by her. The fact that she’s still one of the most talked about – not just pop stars, but people – in the world today means that you’ve got this star power. This girl’s got resilience, and the fact that she’s survived this and she’s still hot, she’s still having hit records and she’s still controversial… there’s a reason for that.”
So yeah.. without saying that he’s pursuing Britney for the show, he pretty much said he’s pursuing Britney for the show. But what do you think? Would she bring valid industry clout to the series…or would she just be another Paul Abdul type, rambling on occasion and saying, well, some things that just don’t make any sense?
Stay tuned for the latest!
