Halloween might not be for months, but certain costumes are quickly running out of stock. Inflatable unicorns, dinosaurs, and hippos have been doubling in price, but not because people are excited to dress up. Maureen Sweeney bought a blow-up unicorn costume so that she could safely hug her grandchildren. The New Jersey grandmother isn’t alone, as sales for inflatable hippo costumes have rocketed up 500% since the pandemic started.
