The Chicago police released files and over 70 hours of video connected to the Jussie Smollett case. One video is a body cam video of officers responding to Jussie's 911 call. As previously reported, on January 29th, the Empire star claimed that he was the victim of a homophobic and racist attack in Chicago. He was later indicted on 16 felony counts of lying to cops for allegedly staging the attack, but those charges were later dropped. A special prosecutor will now review the way the case was handled and it's possible new charges could be filed.
In the videos, obtained by TMZ, Jussie still had a noose around his neck more than 40 minutes after the alleged attack. Cops asked the actor if he wanted to take it off, but he wanted them to see it before he did. The actor then told cops that he didn't want to be recorded and then they double checked with him to see if it was okay for them to turn off their body cams.
Jussie also expressed concern about his neighbors knowing about the attack. He also mentioned that his attackers poured bleach on him.
Another video shows the Osundairo brothers in a taxi before arriving at the scene of the alleged attack. They're both wearing hoodies and one of them is wearing a ski mask. They get out of the car at 1:22 am. The alleged attack happened at around 2 am.
The site pointed out that when they brothers got out of the taxi, they don't appear to be holding anything, no noose, bags or bleach.
