My Trip To Peru

If you've been wondering why you haven't seen or have heard much from me lately... I've been on vacation! Within the last two weeks I was able to spend some time in Peru. There was lot of traveling involved (Planes, Trains and Automobiles... LOL) but it was AMAZING! If you're thinking about planning your next vacation, it's definitely worth checking out. I'll give you a quick rundown of some cool places I visited.

While I was in Peru, I was able to see one of the seven wonders of the world... Machu Picchu! I enjoyed a full day hike on the Inca Trail and was rewarded with breath taking views and architecture.

On another day of my trip, I headed to an archaeological site in Moray. It is believed that this area was used as an agricultural laboratory during Inca times. Different crops were planted/harvested on different levels of the terraces.

After visiting Moray, I also got to see the incredible salt mines in Maras (Salineras De Maras). The site features hundreds of shallow ponds that naturally fill with salt water. They evaporate and leave behind crystalized salt. This process has been in use since Inca times.

During the last few days of my trip, I also headed to Huacachina. It is a desert oasis and small village in Ica, Peru. We drove around in Dune Buggies and sand boarded our way back down. I seriously felt like I was apart of the movie Mad Max!!

Overall, I had an great time venturing out and learning about Peru's history & culture. If you can, take the time to travel and go on your own adventure. The world is BEAUTIFUL + AMAZING!
